I'm Gonna Miss This

The year is coming to an end and with the New Year comes New Beginnings. For me it will be starting my life in the Navy. Nervous, excited, anxious, are only just a few words that can describe what I'm feeling right now. Resigning from TSA is the best thing I could have ever done. I cannot imagine being there forever, making it a career with no possibilities whatsoever. It was merely a stepping stone to something much greater.

TSA kept me from getting that Cum Laude I was shooting for because of the expectations required of me. Forcing me to make compromises that I didn't want to make just so that I wouldn't become homeless. Not working with me and countless of other College students and their school schedules, actually telling me to quit school for that job. It just isn't a good government job for the educated American.

These walls have kept me inside but now I'm busting out! Freedom and adventure here I come! Well, ok so the Navy will own me for a while but it'll be worth it in the end. It's going to be much better than this.

I will miss this: being able to watch my favorite shows on the days they air, seeing my friends whenever I want, spending time with my boyfriend and my cats. Blogging, singing, dancing, etc. whenever I feel like it. It's only 8 weeks without my iPhone, MacBook, Cable TV, and my Nikon D40 but 8 weeks will come and go and I'll be back on the grid again.

I will NOT miss: Drama, TSA, Newark (NJ), or insane people.

Another stepping stone to something greater. In the end the journey will be worth the struggle and the obstacles that lie in my path. In the end I will be a bigger, smarter, and more experienced person. Right now, I'm enjoying the adventure.

Next stop: Great Lakes!

The sad thing about TSA is that under the guise of a "good government job", people are being mistreated and their hopes and dreams are dying. It's one thing to find steady pay to support your family. It's another when that steady pay is a dead end. It explains why jobs like that always hire the stereotypical fat, loud, lazy, black lady. They know those women don't have a choice to go anywhere else, but they know their jobs are secure so they don't even bother doing it well.

This is how the administration buildings work on just about every military post I've been to, and it makes the rest of us civilians look pretty bad.
